Guidelines
A key element that contributes to a student's success and essential safety in P.E. is appropriate clothing and footwear. Clothing should be conducive to movement and the best athletic shoes should either have laces and or velcro straps.
Please make sure your child dresses appropriately and wears appropriate shoes on his/her P.E. days. Students in physical education class are expected to run, jump, kick...move.
Appropriate and Safe shoes
· Rubber soled athletic type shoes
· Gym shoes should have ties, velcro, or at the very least zippers.
· All shoes should cover the heel and toes of the foot.
Inappropriate & unsafe shoes
· Heeleys
· Crocs
· Slip on tennis shoes
· Clogs
· Dress shoes
· Sandals or Flip Flops
· Open toed shoes
Inappropriate Clothing
· Sagging Pants - need to wear belts
· Short shorts - Should come down to at least mid-thigh
· Dresses or skirts - however, girls can wear leaggings or shorts under their dresses or skirts just in case.
· Halter or crop tops that expose the mid-drift
In order to ensure a quality and safe learning environment in our Physical Education classes, a set of guidelines and expectations have been developed for students to follow. Please help us reinforce these guidelines with your child so we all can have a great year.
In Physical Education students will ALWAYS strive to:
· Participate safely.
· Show respect to all.
· Follow the rules and play fairly.
· Participate with 100% effort.
· Follow directions the first time they are given.
· Be kind to others.
